An Earthy Style - Over Dyed Commercial Fabric

I have been spending a lot of time evaluating my personal style. One key word that describes my style is 'earthy'. Today I spent time taking one of my favorite commercial fabrics (Gerta - #17 Avocado Rings by Marcia Derse for Troy Industries) and creating an earthy derivative. To see more images and insights to the process please visit Prints & Patterns Blog.

Scrap-bags™ Tangletown Tote Bag Pattern is now available as a downloadable pattern.

This is a show stopping tote that features fusible applique leaves with a zig-zag column stitch for the stems. Beautiful on hand dyed fabrics, batiks and other large textural prints. The bag it self is a basic tote with lots of interior pockets and an optional magnetic snap closure.

Now you can purchase the Tangletown Tote bag pattern as an instant downloadable. Here's the direct link.

Winging It with Crochet . . .

It's all coming together . . . I just finished the first 6 skeins and I have 6 skeins to go! Last winter I started knitting and crocheting, by spring I said to myself, "this is not for me". I was frustrated by the 'reading of the patterns'. Then my daughter requested a pink and brown blanket for my granddaughter. How could I say, "no". I could not . . . I would do anything for the two of them. So here it is. Three pinks . . . Three browns. NO pattern. I am winging it. And enjoying it. What do you think?
