Inspired - Out of my comfort zone.

This weekend I was visited by three artist friends of mine from Minnesota. (Top to bottom: Linda Thiltgen, Mary Malone & Lisa Beytien-Carlson) They came to see me in my "new diggs"! We ate, drank, and were happy! Goofy actually . . . see the "getup's" we wore to the Roller derby. (Yes, the Roller Derby) Vests and bow ties courtesy of Mary Malone.

OK, so I will admit that I was reluctant to wear the "getup", uneasy, stressed out even. This is a small town after all. What would people think? What would people say? But, my girlfriends were game and agreed to a night out watching girls in even crazier "getups" roll around a track on rollerskates. So really who would care if we showed up in vests and bow ties, looking like we accosted a wedding parties grooms men?

After their departure on Sunday, instead of being worn out and drained I was inspired and later in the afternoon got out my sun printing paints and played!

So my words of wisdom for today are . . . choose your friends wisely. Hang out with folks who restore your energy and vitality, the ones who build you up and never let you down. The one's who shake things up and force you out of your comfort zone once in a while. Your creative energy will be restored NOT depleted. Trust me!

What have you done to stimulate your creative energy lately? Do tell . . . leave a comment, because WE ALL want to know!

Thinking about "hitting the road" again . . .

Dreaming about continuing my GIANT SHOP HOP this fall.

I am looking for suggestions. What states do you think I should visit this time? Send me a comment below and let me know what you think. You can check out the states and shops that I have already visited on my travel blog.

And while I am thinking of traveling and quilt shops . . . WELL, there seams (I mean seems) to be a sign for everything else. Don't you think we need a road side symbol for QUILT SHOPS?
