Quilty/Arty Friends

I'd like to introduce some of my Quilty/Arty friends to you. Below, are the four sisters who own Behind the Seams Quilt Shop in Silver Bay, Minnesota. You'll notice that from behind (second photo down) they have visually portrayed themselves on the back of their vests. This was their first time at Quilt Market and they really got into the spirit of things!

And this is Betty Buss a long time customer of Scrap-bags™ patterns, Betty formerly owned Beehive Quilt Shop in Mason City, Iowa. Betty is showing me the wallet she made from my Easy Zip Wallet Pattern! I think she looks pretty happy with it! What do you think?

And last but not least is my dear friend Lucy Senstad (right) and her daughter Jessica (left). Lucy is an amazing quilt artist and is the owner of Aunt Annies Quilts and Silks in Avon, Minnesota. On the shops website the 'about us' sections begins . . ."Just off the hiway and a little off the wall... (I love that) From the outside, Aunt Annie's looks like just another small town cinder block building. But step inside and you will experience walls of color, fabrics from around the world and an artist's touch." A couple of most often heard comments are: ‘You have fabrics I have never seen before' and ‘You play the best music in here'. The music is another whole story…. To find out more visit the quilt shop or visit online at her website.

Thanks to EVERYONE who stopped by to see me at Quilt Market. You make it all worth while!

Fabric Designer - Marcia Derse

I was fortunate to meet Marcia Derse at Quilt Market. Marcia designed the fabric I used in my newest quilt, "Buttons Bows & Yo-Yo's". This collection that I used is called "Gerta" and is produced by Troy Corp. Marcia is a high energy delightful person. I am so happy to have met her. Thinking of her just makes me smile . . . just like "Gerta" and my new quilt!

Marcia has a great web site and I hope you'll take time to visit her there.

A Blog Post of Gratitude!

This is a post of gratitude.

I greatly appreciate the women who helped me prepare for quilt market this year. I could not have done it without you . . . (and remained sane that is).

Thanks to my pattern testers:
Julie Herman of Jaybird Quilts, Sarah Olson, Sue Lyon, and pictured below, Tracy Krueger, Sue Seslar & Roxy Baumann.

Thanks to the three women who volunteered their time helping me package patterns before leaving for market:

Darcy Taylor, Nancy Gille & Tracy Krueger

And last but not least a big thanks to my dear friend and fellow artist Linda Thiltgen. Linda accompanied me to market, helped me design my booth, loaned me lighting, took photos, worked in my booth . . . AND fed and housed me! What a friend she is!
