Hand Pieced, Hand Quilted Hexagon quilt for my Grand Daughter!

My grand daughter (and first grand child) was born a year ago. She was premature and I spent lots of days in the hospital with my daughter while she was in pre-term labor and then weeks waiting for little Miss Makena to be strong enough to come home. So how did I pass the time??? Quilting of course. Here is a photo of my daughter and Makena one year later at Makena's birthday party, draped in the quilt.

What a beautiful quilt and your granddaughter is so sweet. It is hard to deal with so many problems at such a young age, luckily she has a loving mom and grandmom.

Your grand-daughter is so precious, and the second photo touches my mother's heart, the love in your daughter's face as she cuddles her daughter is priceless.

Happy Birthday. What a beautiful little girl. I had two preterm babies. One is now 22 and just graduated from college and the other 19. To see your granddaughter brought tears to my eyes. It is such a tough thing as a mom to go through and as a grandma. I do not think I could have made it through everything without my mom. What a nice way to pass the time. I am sending many wonderful thoughts to your family. Thanks for sharing.
