- First to exhibit at Surtex
- then do some 'trend research'
- and finally a little finding inspiration in NYC excursion!
Well I will be in NYC for the next week. (16th-23rd)
This weeks swatch is from Kona Bay. I bought a fat-quarter of this fabric and had it pinned up on one of my studio windows during the grayest of winter days. It absolutely glowed! One way to warm a cold winter day.
My new fabric line is 'on the boat' and should be in the stores in 6-8 weeks. It's called Linsey's Penguins. My daughter Linsey teaches pre-school and she has the 'Penguin Room'. She wanted a penguin mascot that she could write the child's name on the tummy and hang it on their cubby.
After I finished I thought . . . "that would make cute fabric". So I design a border print and some coordinates and sent it off to Andover Fabrics. Well here we are many months later and the fabric is "on the water" headed our way!
I used the same color palette as the blue Duck Duck Goose line I did earlier. So if you have any left over Duck Duck Goose fabric it will coordinate perfectly with this new line.
Create something unexpected! Enjoy! I'd love to see what you create with this collection of fabrics.
I've always been attracted to mono-chromatic artwork and prints. Here's an excellent example. I love the simplicity and directness of this print.
This is from Robert Kaufman.

I felt like a kid in a Candy Store with Lonni Rossi's Paint Box Collection. The photo below is only the beginning of a growing collection.
The first thing I did was to narrow down the fabrics in a color story that included light and dark fabrics.
Then I sewed Log Cabin Quilt Squares. The center square is 2", and the strips are 1+7/8" wide.
Each pocket is made from four Log Cabin Blocks.
The bag pattern is Scrap-bags™ Triple Squares.
I JUST LOVE, LOVE, LOVED THE RESULTS and had to do it again!

Look what I discovered! A grandmothers flower garden block made with 2.25" (cut size) hexagons fits perfectly with a Hexagon Block Scrap-bag™ pattern!
Fabrics used are from Lonni Rossi's Paint Box Collection.

I live in a house built in 1948. Most of the house is original to its blueprint. In the breakfast room and parts of the kitchen we have this funky tile (photo below). I have been watching for the perfect curtain fabric for this room. With a some what odd color palette I haven't found much.
